European Trail Days will be held at the beautiful Glassbonden in northern Sweden along the massive Vindel River. The River is well known for it’s fantastic fishing and White water rafting.
If you prefer to hike to EU Trail days you can easily do so via a 40km walk directly from Umeå central bus station. Tavelsjöleden is a well marked trail with plenty of water, cottages and windsheds along the way. For more information on Tavelsjöleden click here

European Trail Days 2020 Travel Advice
The European Trail Days 2020 takes place in the Vännäs community at the Glassbonden farm next to the Tavelsjöleden trail in Västerbotten and can easily be reached from Umeå, either by hiking or by public transportation.

In this document we describe the options to reach the event location, additionally we will update the information closer to the date of the event with infos on public transportation to the event location.
Sweden is in Northern Europe and is part of the Scandiavian peninsula. The capital Stockholm is easy to reach from every major Airport and has many connecting flights to e.g. Amsterdam, Frankfurt and London if you fly in from North America or Asia. Umeå is the closest city to the European Trail Days and a bustling, youthful coastal town which has much to offer to visitors.
Taking the Train from Stockholm to Umeå is a wonderful experience and quite affordable. Resrobot is a useful website for planning a trip with public transportation: https://reseplanerare.resrobot.se/ while you can book train tickets at https://www.sj.se/en/home.html#/
From Stockholm you also can take a connecting flight to Umeå (IATA Code is UME) with e.g. SAS. Airport website: https://www.swedavia.com/umea/
Visitors from Finland can take the ferry from Vaasa to Umeå, which takes them in four hours across the Baltic Sea. You can book your ferry tickets at https://www.wasaline.com/en/ – also make sure to book on the same website the bus tickets from the harbour to the city centre.

The event is held in the Vännäs community at the Glassbonden Farm. Getting to Vännäs is very easy, there are regular buses and trains going from Umeå to Vännäs. You can book train tickets for the 20 minute trip at www.norrtag.se and www.sj.se. You also can take the Bus, Länstrafiken gets you around Västerbotten and the surrounding areas.

Västerbotten is a well known destination for it’s incredible rivers and hiking trails. Why not come a week early and explore some of the trails that are within a short distance by bus from Umeå. Don’t forget to bring a fishing pole!
